Dewatering of drilling cement in Rixenart and Aachen

K-boringen has carried out drilling works at an industrial location in Rixenart and Aachen. During this drilling, the drilling fluid was continually treated in a separation system, so that the drilling fluid could be reused. The separated soil particles (> 40 μm) were treated separately as part of this process. The underflow—the drilling fluid mainly containing particles > 40 μm, was reused as drilling fluid. If this drilling fluid were not to undergo additional treatment, the stream would become gradually thicker which would hamper the drilling process and eventually make it impossible. The dry material present in this sludge stream needs to continually be separated from the water and this was achieved using Kurstjens’ two mobile sieve belt presses.
