Chain initiative for CO2 performance ladder

Kurstjens Ltd is an active member of the Association of Hydraulic Engineers. This association has initiated an investigation into the use of energy on board dredgers. This is a wonderful initiative of course and it is fully in line with Kurstjens Ltd’s aim to do business sustainably.

In relation to this, Kurstjens is looking for opportunities to power its cutter suction dredgers using alternative fuels. They are currently powered by diesel engines. Kurstjens Ltd is convinced that alternative possibilities must be available, which would produce a similar result, performance-wise (and therefore would not have a negative impact on business operations) while emitting far less CO2.

A project proposal is in the process of being written. We cordially invite other companies to join us so that this research can be widely disseminated in the market.

This project proposal will be published on our website in the foreseeable future. It will also be published on the Association of Hydraulic Engineers’ website.
