Dredging the Valleikanaal

The Valleikanaal was dredged on behalf of Waterschap Vallei en Eem. It specifically concerned the section between Wageningen and Veenendaal, approximately 10 kilometres in total. Over 48,000 m³ in total of lightly contaminated dredge spoil was dredged with a cutter suction dredger. Dredging pipes allowed this dredging spoil to be brought to a dredging depot of approximately 3 hectares where the dredge spoil was dewatered naturally. Thanks to the expert and high-quality filling procedures carried out by the depot, a large quantity of sand was naturally recuperated from this lightly-contaminated dredge spoil.
